Facing Homelessness is seeking new board members!
We are a “Lead with Love” organization composed of individuals who believe in meeting people who live unsheltered where they are. The healing conversation begins there. We are inviting new board members to join us in this journey.
We need each other. Do you (or someone you know) see our neighbors living unsheltered through the eyes of love? Concern? Willingness to engage? Do you or (someone you know) have the skills and the time to walk with us into 2021 with a desire for holding and easing someone's pain? Our Board of Directors might be a good place to start on a journey of change--one life at a time. Just Say Hello. We'd love to meet you!
Please contact us if you have skills/experience in the following areas, and are moved, as we are, to provide innovative, community-led solutions to the crisis of people living unhoused:
Accounting or finance
Real estate or housing law
Lived experience
Personal and/or professional connection to people living unhoused
General contracting, engineering or architecture
Prospective board members:
Become familiar with our organization
Volunteer in at least one of our programs
Complete application materials, including a recent background check
Meet with the Executive Director and board members to discuss common goals, before the Facing Homelessness Board votes whether or not to invite the applicant to join.
While we are GRATEFUL for all interest, we have limited openings and specific needs, so may need to decline very capable applicants due to those restrictions.
The Facing Homelessness board is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and welcomes individuals of all backgrounds!
In 2021, the Facing Homelessness Board will dedicate itself to solidifying and refining our efforts to increase our effectiveness, and to analyzing our inherent bias, white privilege, systemic racism, and the impacts of these social dynamics on both our community and organization. We invite board members who embrace, with dignity and humility, walking this path with us.
