Tripled Our Impact in 2019

2019 was a BIG year for The BLOCK Project! See below for some of our most exciting updates.

• We successfully tripled our production of BLOCK Homes in 2019, and continue to strive for greater efficiency, knowing that it ultimately results in less time spent suffering on the streets for our BLOCK residents.

• BLOCK Home 9 sets a new precedent for sustainability in our built environment. It features a composting toilet, and is the first residence in Seattle to have a permitted rainwater catchment to potable water filtration system.

• We are piloting a new Resident Wellness Program in 2020.

• Our Hosts for BLOCK Homes 7, 8, 9, and 10 all have young children living at home, creating new opportunities for us to educate youth about homelessness, companionship, and advocacy.

• Hosts continue to build a network of peer support, and neighbors continue to offer support and resources.
