We Have a Workshop!

On February 14th, The BLOCK Project officially moved into a warehouse space where we will ultimately reduce the duration of BLOCK Home construction by more than half. Welcome to the Workshop!

Tomasz Biernacki is The BLOCK Project’s Production Manager. Tomasz made the new Version 1.1 design of the BLOCK Home possible through a volunteer-friendly construction system, which will revolutionize our construction method without compromising the standard of beauty and quality established in the initial BLOCK Home design.

Historically, we have stick-built BLOCK Homes and they have taken between 3 and 6 months to construct. In 2020, we are piloting a new construction method where we will prefabricate panels for BLOCK Homes in our Workshop, deliver the panels to the build site, and assemble them in backyards using volunteer labor at every stage. This new construction method will reduce construction time to 6 weeks (or less!).

For people living outside, every single day matters. Simply put, greater efficiency means less suffering.
